The day will cover the essential aspects of teaching writing in KS1 and KS2:

Transcription Skills

• Spoken Word to Written Word Training. (Ensuring children write grammatical correct sentences that start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.)
• Spelling, handwriting and dictation.
• Stage appropriate work.

Preparation and Teaching

• Appropriate skill and genre choice.
• The importance of a wagoll/model text.
• How to model the thinking process of sentence writing.
• Working Walls.
• Sequence of work and success criteria.
• Live marking.
